Joan joined the Family Law practice at Donnelly Murphy Lawyers PC in March 2022, bringing with her over 22 years of experience appearing at the Divisional Court, the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice.
Drawing upon a wealth of experience, Joan assists her clients in all aspects of separation, divorce and the division of family property such as homes and pensions.
Joan grew up in a community just a few minutes north of Goderich and is excited to return home to continue her family law practice with one of the area’s preeminent law firms.
Joan graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1998 and was Called to the Ontario Bar in 2000. The skills she has acquired in mediation and alternative dispute resolution training are utilized daily for the benefit of her clients to facilitate early resolution of their complex legal issues.
Joan feels strongly about giving back to her community through volunteer work and has devoted her time to organizations such as the Alzheimer Society, Girl Guides of Canada and sitting on the Board of the Victoria Haliburton Law Association. Joan is empaneled on the Family Law and the Child Protection Panels with Legal Aid Ontario and does accept Legal Aid Certificates for family law and child protection matters in Huron County.
