Sheryl joined Donnelly Murphy in 2002. Her law practice focuses on Wills, Power of Attorney appointments, Estate plans and administration, Estate litigation; and, Family law matters.

She is an experienced wills, estate and estate litigation lawyer and provides advice with respect to various estate related matters including the potential benefits of preparing dual wills, creating a trust for someone with special needs, assisting someone appointed under a Power of Attorney for Property and/or Personal Care or working with a trustee appointed to administer an estate. Sheryl has assisted clients dealing with a variety of estate litigation issues such as Will challenges, dependent support claims, acting under a Power of Attorney appointment, mental incapacity, and, disappointed beneficiaries.

Sheryl also represents clients on all family law and divorce issues including custody, parenting plans, child support, spousal support, property division, divorce, separation agreements, cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts and adoptions.

Sheryl is comfortable with all forms of dispute resolution including negotiation, mediation and/or litigation depending on the specific needs of the client, the dynamics of the issues and what best fits each specific case. She has training in collaborative family law practice and mediation.

Sheryl is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario where she earned a LL.B. (2001), a M.A (1982), B.A. Educ. (1978) and a B.A. in Physical Education and Health (Honours 1977). She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, the Huron Law Association and the Bruce Law Association.

Sheryl has two children, and lives on an operating dairy farm with her husband.
